Back to The Main Inspiration

New art? YES New tunes? YES

Bigger version

Also I heard back from El Kartel and my custom Oakley's sold! Makes me feel good that I can paint something that someone would want to wear. If the person who bought them reads this, please send me a pic of you wearing them!

I'll have some more art and news within the next couple weeks.

Compound Show and Girly Girls

Just slightly excited to be showing in Portland at Compound Gallery

Here's a preview of the work I'll be showing

As you can see above I've been adding more females into my work. Hopefully they will develop more.

And of course a mix to give you something to listen to while you spend your whole day looking at my art : P

Catching UP

It's been a minute since I've updated and that's just not acceptable! There have been tons of exciting news and projects coming up for me lately. And I'm quickly realizing that it's so important to have a good group of friends that have my back and push me to new heights. It truly blows my mind when I think about some of the support I've gotten recently.

Here is the flyer I designed for my first time showing at Ayden Gallery. It's a huge step for me and I can not wait to show there and catch up with my Vancouver people! It was nice to have the opportunity to do the flyer for all these amazing artists.

Another huge announcement for me has been the linking up with Damu the Fudgemunk's label called Redefinition Records! I'll be doing all sorts of art for their releases and hope to really build a relationship between the music and art. I'm a huge fan of Damu's music so this exactly the kind of thing I want to do with my art. There's a bit of info about it at The Find website.

I've done two more mixes over at 8track. These are bit more obscure and a little bit less hip hop based and show some of the different types of music I listen to(even though I'm a hip hop head most of the time).

Here's the images I used for the covers

Awhile back I took part in a group show at Billy's Bistro in Victoria. The theme was mafia and I did my take on Lucky Luciano. It was fun to do something with a different subject matter and it challenged me a bit.

And finally here a couple pics from the group show I did in Courtney. Thanks to Wallfarmers and Tarah!

I'll be back soon with some recent sketchbook scribbles.

Another Post?! With art this time!

Here's some recent sketches to make up for the lack of new art here. There's a few things in these that are along the lines of where I want to take my art... maybe not there yet.

Trying New Things

Not there yet but I think these two pieces are leading up to a new direction for my work. I'll let you know when it's there : P

Here's an amazing video and song from Mr J Medeiros(one of the artists that was on The Find Cover I illustrated)

And I've been super addicted to this song as well. Actually the whole album should be heard by everyone... super tight production. I swear local hip hop is so much better than they get credit for.

The Find Magazine

If you're into quality music, art and interviews make sure to check out The Find Magazine's new site. I designed the header graphic for them as well as a cover for one of their past issues.

Basic & Messy

Not sure about this one. Think I went to far into it without thinking about design enough.

Always into new Blue Scholars. Check for Angry Woebots doing his thing in it.

Dakota Commission

I was commissioned to do this portrait of Dakota, a Boxer Terrier Mix. It looks like I could get a lot of work doing these sort of portraits but that would leave no time to draw hip hop kids with big hands : P

Putting Pencil to Paper

It's been nice to have a bit of time to get back into de ol' sketchbook. These are from the past couple days with lots more to come... both finished and rough. This weekend will be spent getting pieces ready for The Green Party on May 17th.

Also the crew at The Find magazine just released Issue 3! I did the cover for issue 2 but they've really stepped up on this issue as far as illustration duties. Check out my man Francis Vallejo He did some amazing illustrations for this issue. He kills it every time.
